According to the Vice-President of Chamber of Commerce in Prachuab Khirikhan, Mr. Chote Chotiyakorn, delivery of heavy equipment has been going on for the construction of a hydropower dam in Tanao Sri River (Tanintharyi/Tenasserim) in Mergui, Mon State, about 150 kilometers South of Dan Singkhon Pass on the Thai border.

The output from the hydropower and power plant project will support industrialization in Southern Burma and slated for selling to Thailand and Malaysia through underwater cable networks.
According to the Vice-President, it is likely that the temporary pass between Thailand and Burma at Dan Singkhon will be upgraded to a regular pass as proposed by the Governor of Prachuab Khirikhan to promote trade and tourism with the neighboring country
